Student Assessment - PreSchool
Each member of The Kessler School staff has been trained by the Gesell Institute's method of developmental observation. Each TWELVE Weeks a developmental checklist of the many skills your child will be introducted to throughout the year will be sent home for students in PreK Levels I & II. Teachers will provide opportunities for
parent conferences at scheduled intervals or at other times upon request. At
these conferences,
teachers will review the students' checklist of developmental progress as well as offer suggestions
for parental support at home. PreK Assessment Checklist Descriptors: C - Consistently
M - Most of the time
S - Sometimes
TN - Time Needed for learning
NE - Not Evaluated at this time
Grading
- Elementary
Progress Reports will be issued each NINE weeks to students in
Kinder through Grade 4. These printed reports will
be sent home with the students 2-5 days after each grading period ends. Teachers will provide opportunities for
parent conferences at scheduled intervals or at other times upon request. At
these conferences, teachers will review student progress,
discuss individual student goals, as well as offer suggestions
for parental support.
Kindergarten through Grade 4:
For academic subjects and specific skills, report cards will reflect individual student progress
using the following descriptors:
4: Exceeding Standards (90-100)
3: Meeting Standards (80-89)
2: Working Towards Standards (70-79)
1: Below Standards (60-69)
NA: Not Applicable at this time
Teacher Comments
Teachers will provide individual comments each nine weeks
siting student strengths and weakness, as well as offering
suggestions for improvement.
