Kessler School PTO - 2009-2010
Our PTO shares the vision of the school's founding body: to provide
the support and resources The Kessler School needs to become a prestigious,
accredited educational resource for the families in Dallas. Remember,
you do not have to have a child in the Kessler School to get involved.
Meetings are held monthly – the last Wednesday of the month
at 6:30 p.m. Childcare is provided for meetings. Contact the PTO

The mission statement of Parent-Teacher Organization is to strengthen
The Kessler school by:
- Maximizing Parent-Teacher involvement & cooperation;
- Provide a forum for constructive communication;
- Raising funds to enrich the school;
- Promoting healthy relationships with the Kessler Park United Methodist
Church and with the local community.
President
- Mindy Hail
1.) Work closely with VPs to plan & execute year’s fundraisers
2.) Work to Staff to plan events sponsored by PTO (Grandparents
day, Field Day, Ice Cream Social)
3.) Parent, Staff, & Director Liaison
4.) Attend and participate as a voting member of TKS Board Meetings
5.) Communicate regularly with Parents
President-Elect -To Be Elected at first PTO Meeting on September 2nd
Vice
President of Fundraising-Ashley Harris
1.) Recruit parents to chair fundraisers & volunteer
Treasurer
- Amy Palmer
1.) Take all monies, disperse all monies balance accounts
2.) Provide monthly PTO financial report
3.) Work to provide a broad year budget for funds
4.) Work with fundraising event chairs to properly budget for events
& spend accordingly
Secretary
-Jessica Johnson
1.) Take minutes from all meetings & post on website through
webmaster
2.) Make arrangements for PTO meetings, incl. babysitting, room
reservations @ KPUMC
3.) Work w/ Pres, VP to coordinate any mailings, bulletins, parent
communications
4.) Provide sign in sheet at each PTO meeting
5.) Track and record parent volunteer hours

Elementary Parent Representative to TKS School Board- Lisa Durham

Membership Dues - $35 per family
Membership dues cover expenses for items like:
- childcare during PTO meetings
- special programs like Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, Grandparents Day
- parent education programs, book studies, etc.
- help create stable basis for budget & event planning
