About Us

Thank you for your interest in The Kessler School. We're excited to share more about our unique and thriving community.

The Kessler School, a premier private school nestled in the historic neighborhood of Oak Cliff near Downtown Dallas, serves students from Pre-K through 8th grade. Our mission is to create a community of diverse learners that values individuality, cultivates a passion for learning, instills respect for others, and promotes leadership and community service.

At TKS, we are committed to providing an UNLIMITED educational experience. Our holistic approach integrates academic excellence, personal growth, social responsibility, and community involvement, preparing students to become confident, compassionate leaders ready to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

Our Values and Curriculum

We value individuality and ensure that each student's unique strengths and needs are recognized and nurtured. Our well-rounded curriculum is designed to operate in harmony with our students, families, and faculty, emphasizing intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth.

Academic Excellence: We adhere to high academic standards, using the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for language arts and math, and the Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills (TEKS) standards for science and social studies. Our small class sizes and personalized attention ensure that every student receives the support they need to thrive.

Innovative Programs: Our innovative programs, including the Odyssey with Learning (OWL) program for gifted learners and our comprehensive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) curriculum, provide students with hands-on learning opportunities that prepare them for the future.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL): We integrate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) into our curriculum, helping students develop essential life skills such as empathy, resilience, and teamwork. This approach ensures that our students are not only academically prepared but also emotionally intelligent and socially aware.

Community Involvement: Our close-knit community network is strengthened by the active involvement of our parents. We require families to volunteer 40 hours per year, fostering a unified approach to supporting student growth and development. Our "TKS Cares" program encourages students to participate in meaningful community service projects, instilling a sense of responsibility and connection to the broader community.

Partnerships and Expertise: We leverage community connections to bring outside expertise into our classrooms. Our partnerships with renowned local organizations and professionals, such as Oil and Cotton for the arts, BOCO Music & Dance, Dallas Conservatory for Fine Arts, and Oak Cliff Dance for athletics, enrich our students' learning experiences.

Faculty Excellence: Our dedicated faculty and staff are the backbone of the UNLIMITED educational experience at TKS. With diverse backgrounds and a wealth of experience, they bring unique perspectives to our community, fostering a culture of respect, curiosity, and excellence. We employ certified specialists, including a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) for our Dyslexia Learning Program, ensuring that students with specific learning needs receive expert care. Our commitment to ongoing professional development ensures that our educators remain at the forefront of educational best practices, enhancing the quality of instruction.

If you are looking for a school that offers a well-rounded curriculum, fosters a love for learning, and operates in harmony with our students, families, and faculty, The Kessler School is the perfect fit.
