Our enriching and thriving PK-6th grade program is growing! The Kessler School is excited to announce the addition of 7th and 8th grades, launching in 2020-2021.
The Kessler Middle School, to include 6th-8th grade, continues to offer a student-centered, project-based experience that is academically rigorous.
TKMS follows the Teacher’s College Workshop Model for Humanities and use STEM thought processes for cross-curricular connections. Daily electives and advisory incorporates a well-rounded school day to meet the needs of all learners. Leadership requirements are built in the schedule, with additional club options available to all.
What makes TKMS a unique middle school experience is the expertise behind the curriculum and leadership. TKMS has partnered with community experts to offer classes led by seasoned professionals within their particular field.
STEM instructions are led by the team at Mad Science; Visual Arts led by local artists from Oil and Cotton, and a Performing Arts partnership with Oak Cliff Dance.
Off-campus experiences and community projects are an integral part of the middle school experience at The Kessler School, allowing students make authentic, real-world connections to curriculum while learning to value local community resources.

STEM Scopes is our science curriculum. It is designed so that teachers and students can spend more hands-on time “doing” science while meeting the standards set forth by TEKS. In addition, we are proud to have contracted with the Mad Science Group Inc. offering weekly interactive STEM Lab instruction reinforcing the skills students learn in the classroom.
History Alive is a comprehensive curriculum designed to engage and motivate every student. Through the stories of the intriguing people, exciting places, and fascinating events that make social studies relevant to their lives, students gain a global perspective. They also learn the social studies themes and skills they need to become informed, participating citizens who consider diverse points-of-view, use critical thinking skills, and are active in their communities.
- Spanish and Mandarin
- Pre—Algebra and Algebra 1
Eureka Math is the math curriculum for TKMS. Thoughtfully constructed and designed like a story, Eureka Math is meticulously coherent, with an intense focus on key concepts that layer over time, creating enduring knowledge. Students gain a complete body of math knowledge, not just a discrete set of skills. They use the same models and problem-solving methods from grade to grade, so math concepts stay with them, year after year.
