Owl News - Week #26

March 4th, 2026

TKS Calendar | TKS Parent Page | Curriculum Overview

Walker-Pick Up Reminder!

When picking up your child from walkers on the field, we kindly ask that students not play in the rocks surrounding the ramp. We work hard to keep this area clear so our ECC students can transition safely to and from the field using strollers, and keeping the rocks in place also helps prevent slipping while walking on the ramp. We truly appreciate your help in gently reminding students and helping us keep this space safe and clear during after-school pickup.

 Don't Forget!

- No Aftercare this Friday!

- Students can wear college shirts every Friday during March for March Madness!

Second Book Club Meeting is tomorrow!

TWO MORE DAYS TO PLEDGE!

K–8 Spell-A-Thon is in full swing!

The Spell-A-Thon is a virtual fundraiser, which will run from February 23rd to March 6th. Family and friends can pledge support based on the number of words a student spells correctly from a teacher-provided list. Each participating student receives a list of 20 spelling words from their teacher (10 kinder).

Families and supporters may donate in one of two ways:
• A flat donation in any amount, or
• A pledged amount per word spelled correctly.

Spelling scores are used only to calculate pledged donations and to determine recognition. The student who raises the highest total amount receives the Spellathon trophy, and the class that raises the most overall funds earns a pizza party. Individual spelling scores are not publicly shared beyond what is needed for the fundraiser, and participation is intended to be positive and encouraging for all students.

Check your inbox for the Live 99 Pledges link and your child's homework folder

for their Spell-a-thon list this week!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Jocelyn Baron for additional details.

We look forward to a fun and successful Spell-A-Thon!

TEFA Parent Guide

We are excited to invite all students, grades 2nd and up, to join us for our inaugural Young Innovators Expo! Students will get to design and launch their own project, either independently or with another TKS partner. From a small business to a cool invention, a neighborhood service to a way to change the community, students are encouraged to dream big!

Participants must submit an application (linked below) by Monday, March 30th to join! From there, they will work alongside mentors to develop a business plan, pitch their idea to a panel for feedback, and showcase their product or service at our after-school Young Innovators Expo on Tuesday, May 5th. Participation is option and all work toward the project will be done outside of school.

Spring Showcases!

This April, all students — PK through TKMS — will take the stage for our annual Spring Showcases!

As a fun nod to this year’s Auction theme, “Broadway,” our showcases will provide students with an opportunity to showcase their learning and growth across disciplines, highlighting the creativity, collaboration, and academic skills they have developed throughout the year.

In an exciting new format, we will combine grade-level showcase times, allowing families to enjoy multiple performances in one program — not just their child’s grade level. Performances will begin promptly at 8:15 a.m., followed by an opportunity to view student work artifacts that reflect the learning and preparation behind the scenes.

We look forward to celebrating our students’ confidence, creativity, and growth with you!
