TKS Singing at KPUMC Service
We have been invited to sing for the Kessler Park United Methodist Church Service on Sunday, November 11th at 11AM. All students who wish to participate will meet in the Chapel at 10:45AM on that Sunday in formal uniform. Students will sing "Above the Plain" and "Do unto Others" then join their parents in the sanctuary to enjoy the remainder of the service. This is a lovely way to thank our hosts in the building, but completely optional!
Your Words of Appreciation are NEEDED
It's that time of year when the PTO rallies the families to show appreciation for teachers and staff. The PTO is organizing a nice dinner to honor the teachers and staff and to give them a chance to let loose a little! At the dinner, we are planning a special surprise that will be individual to each teacher/staff. BUT, it is only possible if your child participates. Please click this link and fill out a short 'thank you note' to the teachers/staff assigned to the grade level as indicated on the form link. This is inclusive of PreK-5th grades. And, please be on the lookout for more information on how to volunteer to make this dinner possible. There will be opportunity to volunteer for a couple of hours on November 8 after school. If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Pickel or Leslee Mallinson.
Thanks for the Great Pumpkin Book Festival
We had overwhelming participation from families in our Pumpkin Book Festival this year! Thank you so much to everyone who took time as a family to participate in this annual event. The pumpkins were quite the work of art. SO creative! Please check out the photos in the stairwell!
Book Character Parade
On Wednesday, October 31st, we will celebrate our 4th Annual Book Character Parade in the morning at 8:10AM. Students will be allowed to dress up like their favorite book character and bring the book with them to school. Starting with 5th graders and ending with PreK, students will walk in procession out the door and up the sidewalk to the church lawn for pictures. Parents may stand along the sidewalk to see all the creative book characters. After the parade, students may wear their costumes with athletic shoes for the day (if they want to change, then it must be into uniform clothing).
Red Ribbon Week
The Red Ribbon Week campaign is observed across the nation providing drug awareness and healthy living. This year's slogan is LIFE IS YOUR JOURNEY, TRAVEL DRUG FREE™. We will be recognizing Red Ribbon Week from October 29th-Nov 2nd. That week, students will be allowed to come to school in free dress as long as they are wearing the themed clothing for the day. On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, students must wear uniform bottoms and shoes. Any child who does not wish to participate may wear the regular school uniform each day.
Monday(10/29) - Red Ribbon Week Kick-Off! (wear red t-shirts and socks)
Tuesday (10/30) - Team up to be healthy! (wear your favorite team jersey)
Wednesday (10/31) - Close the Book on Drugs! (wear book character costume)
