International Dot Day
To keep up our tradition, TKS will celebrate International Dot Day on Wednesday, September 16th! Everyone will be allowed to wear anything with Dots on Wednesday (with athletic shoes)! International Dot Day, a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration, began when teacher Terry Shay introduced his classroom to Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot on September 15, 2009. We will be reading Peter Reynolds' book and celebrating DOT activities all week!

Friendly Reminders
Please be reminded of the following:
September PINThis school year, we plan to host Parent Information Nights (PIN) on a virtual platform. Depending on the topic and availability of guest speakers, some months we will have live virtual meetings and some will be recordings sent to you to view at your convenience.
Our September topic, "Round Table COVID19 Discussion with Medical Professionals," will be a recorded session with three of our in-house physicians (parents at our school) discussing frequently asked questions related to children in schools during the pandemic. Thank you to those who sent us questions on our survey.
We are still in the process of completing this recording and will release it to the community within the next two weeks. Your patience is appreciated.
TKS Annual Giving Drive
This week we kicked off our 2020-21 Annual Fund. Support letters went home with students to families from our Parent Chair/TKS Trustee Kevin Doeksen. TKS is pleased to announce that 100% of our faculty, staff and the School Board will pledge to the 2020-21 Annual Fund. For your convenience, you may make your gift online as either a scheduled contribution through FACTS or a one-time, immediate donation. What is a recommended donation? Most families give an amount equal to or more than 10% of their annual tuition, per child. But any amount is appreciated! We are grateful for your support and look forward to repeating last year's record of 100% participation!
Please be reminded of the following:
- TKS is a nut aware school. Please do not to send nut items with your child for snack or lunch. There are several students on campus who are severely allergic to nuts (including airborne food allergies).
- Water bottles are a must every single day (even in the winter). Please remember to send your child with a clean water bottle to school each day.
- Masks must fit properly. Please be sure your child's mask fits securely over his/her nose. If it is loose or falls off easily, it is too big. Many elastic ear bands can be tied to fit more securely.
