Meet our New Chair of the TKS Board of Trustees!

Shelbi Barnhouse, the newly-elected President of the Board of Trustees, is a longtime parent, volunteer, and die-hard supporter of The Kessler School. Shelbi and her husband, Chris Schwegmann, have lived in Oak Cliff for almost 25 years and have had a child at TKS since 2015. Their youngest is currently a fourth grader at the school, and the older two are proud alumni. 

Shelbi is a “double Longhorn,” having received both her Plan II undergraduate degree and her law degree from the University of Texas. She has practiced business litigation in Dallas since 2000, and is currently teaching legal writing at SMU Law School. She previously served TKS as President of the PTO, a member of the Board of Trustees, and a member of the Capital Campaign Committee.
