Dress Code

At The Kessler School, we believe that a standardized dress code fosters a sense of community, reduces distractions, and enhances school spirit. Our dress code includes both casual and formal uniforms to be worn on specified days. Formal uniforms are required on Wednesdays and certain special occasions, while casual uniforms are worn on the other days of the week. Below, you will find detailed information about our uniform requirements, including where to purchase the necessary items. Additionally, families can supplement their child's wardrobe with TKS spirit gear available at our TKS Spirit Store.

Casual Uniform Guidelines

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

Bottoms:

  • Boys (PK-8th): Khaki pants or shorts
  • Girls (PK-8th): Khaki pants or skorts (shorts allowed only in Preschool)
    • Note: Solid navy, black, gray, or white leggings may be worn under skorts or dresses

Tops:

  • PK-4th Grade: Logoed green polo (short or long sleeve)
  • 5th-8th Grade: Logoed navy polo (short or long sleeve)

Shoes:

  • Boys: Solid black tennis shoes (Velcro closures or laces)
  • Girls: Keds "School Days" or solid white tennis shoes

Socks and Tights:

  • White triple roll, knee high, or solid navy tights (no colored socks or patterns)

Outerwear:

  • Logoed green or navy sweaters or fleece zip-ups (PK-8th Grade) for indoor and cooler weather use
  • Hooded sweatshirts are for outdoor wear only

Preschool Specific:

  • Girls: Green polo dress with logo (navy or green privacy shorts underneath)
  • Boys & Girls: Pull-on khaki pants, skorts, and shorts options available

Formal Uniform Guidelines

Wednesdays and Special Occasions

Formal uniforms are mandatory every Wednesday and for some special occasions. They are for kindergarten through 8th grade and optional on other days of the week.

Girls (K-4th Grade)

  • Plaid jumper with white Peter Pan collar shirt
    • Privacy shorts (navy or green) worn under jumpers
  • Plaid skort with white shirt
  • Shoes: Navy/white athletic saddle Oxfords or solid white tennis shoes
  • Socks: White knee highs, tights, or triple roll socks

Girls (5th-8th Grade)

  • Plaid skort with blue Oxford shirt (long or short sleeve)
  • Shoes: Navy/white athletic saddle Oxfords or solid white tennis shoes
  • Socks: White knee highs, tights, or triple roll socks

Boys (K-4th Grade)

  • Navy pants or shorts
  • Logoed green sweater vest
  • White Oxford shirt (long or short sleeve)
  • Shoes: Solid black tennis shoes (Velcro closures or laces)
  • Socks: Navy or black socks

Boys (5th-8th Grade)

  • Navy blue uniform pants or shorts
  • Blue Oxford shirt (long or short sleeve)
  • School uniform plaid tie
  • School uniform leather belt (brown)
  • Shoes: Solid black tennis shoes (Velcro closures or laces)
  • Socks: Navy or black socks
