We appreciate your patience as we navigate through uncharted waters to make the best decisions possible for our school. Our goal has been and continues to be to provide flexibility for our families while maintaining an optimal education for our students.
We sincerely appreciate the efforts and leadership of our state and local officials, and the Texas Education Agency, in this enormously challenging and rapidly changing pandemic. On Tuesday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton issued guidance that “the decision to close schools . . . remains with school system leaders who should consult with relevant public health authorities, including the Department (of State Health Services) and local health authorities.”
With that in mind, TKS is continuing to plan and prepare for On-Campus Instruction and Off-Campus Learning to begin August 17th. For the first quarter of school, parents will have the 3 options:
Option A - Start On-Campus Instruction August 17th
Option B - Start the first 3 weeks of school with Off-Campus Learning, then begin On-Campus Instruction September 8th
Option C - Start the entire first quarter (9-week grading period) with Off-Campus Learning
TKS will continue to take a thoughtful, measured approach to the beginning of the school year. The health and safety of our students, staff, families, as well as that of our community, is our top priority. While guidance is evolving--and we expect it will continue to evolve--it is our responsibility as a school to be completely ready for quality On-Campus Instruction in an environment designed to protect our students and staff from the spread of the virus, in a manner consistent with state and CDC guidance.
