Student Life

The student experience at The Kessler School (TKS) is designed to be truly UNLIMITED, ensuring that each child thrives in a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment. Our approach combines academic excellence with personal growth, community involvement, and innovative programs to create a holistic educational journey. Fostering a sense of belonging, camaraderie, and school spirit, TKS cultivates confident, compassionate leaders ready to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

Leveraging the Oak Cliff Community

TKS values leveraging community connections to bring outside expertise to enhance the student experience. We partner with renowned local organizations and professionals to provide our students with a diverse and enriched education:

  • Oil and Cotton: Offering a fresh and thoughtful curriculum in the arts, fostering an appreciation for art history, material science, and artistic processes.

  • BOCO Music & Dance: Providing high-quality music education that nurtures students' musical talents and appreciation.

  • Dallas Conservatory for Fine Arts: Collaborating to deliver exceptional performing arts programs.

  • Oak Cliff Dance and other local athletic organizations: Enhancing our athletics program with expert coaching and opportunities for physical development.

These partnerships bring real-world experience into the classroom, enriching our students' learning and exposing them to a wide range of disciplines and perspectives.

Close-Knit Community Network

The Kessler School prides itself on being a close-knit community where students, families, and faculty work together to create a supportive and collaborative environment. We believe that strong relationships are the foundation of a successful educational experience. Our small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratios ensure personalized attention and foster a sense of family within the school.

Parental Involvement

Parental involvement is a key component of the TKS experience. We require families to volunteer 40 hours per year, ensuring that parents are actively engaged in the school community. This commitment strengthens the partnership between the school and families, creating a unified approach to supporting student growth and development. Parents contribute in various ways, from assisting in classrooms and organizing events to participating in community service projects and supporting extracurricular activities.
